About Us

Target archery on the North Shore began with Bays Archery Club in Mairangi Bay, established in the 1950s. When Bays Archery closed in the 1960s, Ken Leyman led a group that established Shore Archery Club near the grounds of the North Shore Event Centre. The club moved to its present ground in the 1980s.

Today, Shore Archery is the longest serving target archery club on the North Shore. We support compound, recurve, barebow, and traditional archers from all ages – from 10 years old to 80 years young!

Shore Archery is a member of the Auckland District Archery Association (ADAA) and Archery New Zealand (ANZ)

Outdoor Range and Facilities

The outdoor range has 12 fixed targets, with space for mobile targets to operate. The range extends to 90 metres so all archers, regardless of ability, can practice safely.

Club archery takes place on weekends, where full club facilities are open to members.

Entry to the facility is via Argus Place and there is ample parking directly outside of the club.
