What’s On in Oct-Dec 2025 – Club Events Updates

October

11th – Interclub challenge Round 1

During the summer season, clubs enter teams to face teams from other clubs in a ‘shoot at your own club and submit results’. Anyone is welcome to participate, and is a good format to keep track of your progress.

Archers will shoot 90 arrows total, 30 arrows per distance over 3 distances. Distances vary between bow type and class. More information on https://www.archery.org.nz/interclub/#1724807496072-8441bf0b-ce98.

This will happen during club shoot time (11am) so those who are not interested can shoot casually on the other side.

19th 1pm – ADAA600

On Sunday 19th Shore Archery will be hosting the ADAA600 shoot, where archers shoot 90 arrows at 30m on varying target faces depending on what you have shot in the past (and passed the merit score of 600!)

New archers will start on a 122cm face, and once you shoot more than 600 on that target face you will be awarded a ribbon for that size, and on a future ADAA600 you can aim for a smaller target face as you progress (80, 60, 40, 20cm).

It is a fun shoot so please feel free to come down and have a go.

More information here. https://www.adaa.org.nz/600-round/

Parking Disruption: Please note the Baby Expo is on the weekend of 18, 19th October so parking may be limited.

November

1st – Murray Shaw’s Memorial

On 1st of November from 11am to 1pm, we will be doing a memorial shoot for Murray Shaw. Murray was a valued club member who sadly passed away earlier this year. We are going to have a shoot in his memory and we will also be fundraising for The Regional Cancer Centre at Auckland Hospital, where he was treated and well looked after.

Please also help us to support other cancer sufferers by making a cash donation on the day, for the Regional Cancer Centre at Auckland Hospital. All proceeds will go towards the cause.

We will shoot a simple 36 rounds of arrows and a BBQ to follow. Murray enjoyed shooting together with other members and having the opportunity to make connections with all members.

15th – Ken Leyman Memorial

Every year in November, Shore Archery hosts a Major competition; the Ken Leyman Memorial in memory of Ken who is the founder of the club. Format is a WA720, and if you are interested you can register here https://archeryosa.com/event/details/ken-leyman-memorial-2025-534.

The range will be fully used for the competition on this day, so the range will be closed for anyone NOT shooting the competition. You are welcome to come down to spectate, and if you can help on the day please let Beth or Jun know.
